Thoughts For Living

Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God

Here on earth people desire abundant life but often they try to get these things the wrong way. Their focus is on the material things believing that these blessings are the key to abundant life rather the TRUE BLESSING, which is the source of all blessings. He is no other than our Loving and Good God.

Jesus tell us to set our heart first on His kingdom and His goodness because our hearts determines the course of our life or for from it flow the springs of life.

King Solomon, the wisest and the richest man ever lived in His time, revealed his great discovery in life, he told us the Futility of wealth, that “those who love money will never have enough, And how meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness”. (Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 NLT). He told us also the Futility of Pleasure. He said,

I said to myself ‘Come on, let’s try pleasure. Let’s look for good things in life’, but I found that this, too, was meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 2:1-2NLT

He also revealed the futility of work and political power. It is all meaningless – like chasing the wind. If our hearts are set on these things as our source of abundant life, we will find ourselves living like chasing a wind because these things will not give true meaning and satisfying life.

Jesus said set your heart first on His kingdom and His goodness, but what is in the Kingdom of God? Presence of God, Peace of God, Glorious Joy, God’s love, Righteousness, Eternal life, Satisfaction, Riches, Salvation – all good things. He said that it is the pleasure of the Father to give us the Kingdom. In John 10:10b, Jesus said “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Jesus has taught us how we can get these things, which means that all that the Kingdom of God have are all ours, to those who believe in Jesus’ and to those who receive Him as Lord and Savior. In Him, we are complete and lack nothing. We are blessed with all spiritual blessings because we are united with Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)

As you set your heart on the Truth that Jesus is enough for us, – that He is your life and He is so good to you, all you need will come to you as a matter of course. As you continue your everyday walk with your heart and mindset on Christ, on His goodness, on His grace and love, as you commune to Him and your hearts are persuaded by His awesome love and goodness to you, you will experience His Peace which transcends all understanding, joy, contentment and hope. It is because you know that God will take care all of your needs because He loves you and He is so good to you. You will realize that the things we seek cannot satisfy like He can.

Whatever you are experiencing today, set your hearts on Christ, His goodness and love to you, trust Him and rest in His unfailing love, then all that you need will come to you as a matter of course.

Prayer

Father God, thank You for Your goodness to me, thank You for telling to us that it is Your good pleasure to give to us the kingdom. Lord Jesus, You are my all in all. Help me to depend on You instead of myself. Lord, help me to set my heart on You, open the eyes of my heart everyday to see and experience your goodness and find strength, peace and inspiration. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

God is Good!
Stay Blessed in His Amazing Love!
